Tillandsia brachycaulos: Widespread in Mexico and Central America. It has an epiphytic lifestyle on the trees of dry forests. It has soft green leaves but turns completely red at flowering. The flowers bloom one by one from the center of the rosette and are purple. If kept outdoors in summer, place it in a semi-shaded area and spray it daily.
